CPI (M) LEADER INVITED TO SPEAK IN CYPRUS

SITARAM Yechury, Polit Bureau member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and leader of the CPI (M) parliamentary group is invited by the Confederal Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) for the study class organised for the group of Left members of European parliament in Nicosia, Cyprus from October 11-14, 2010.

The ruling party of Cyprus, Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL) is hosting the study class and has invited Sitaram Yechury to speak on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). Apart from the MDG, other issues that would be discussed in the study classes are, the Cyprus question, Palestine and Iran.

The president of the GUE/NGL group, Lothar Bisky would be present during the study class and there would also be a meeting with the president of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias.
